The Good Stuff
The Tooth Ferry Pediatric Dentistry was created with the mission of providing high-quality, accessible dental care for children of all ages. Every aspect of the office, from our dental assistants, to our design choices, were made with the unique interests of children in mind. We understand that children are not just tiny adults, and a child’s holistic oral healthcare plan should take into account who they are as a whole person. Megan K. Posthuma, DDS is a board-certified pediatric dentist and the owner of The Tooth Ferry Pediatric Dentistry. She does not see her job as that of drilling and filling cavities; she appreciates the importance of building a positive relationship with her pediatric patients that will lay the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children have their first dental visit around age one. A pediatric dentist has advanced training, allowing them to addresses specific issues pertaining to the oral cavity, such as teething, timing of tooth eruption, age-appropriate dietary recommendations, speech development, non-nutritive sucking habits (thumb, pacifier), oral habits (nail-biting), ankyloglossia (tongue-tie), oral and maxillofacial development, appropriate timing for orthodontic intervention, in addition to assessing your child’s risk for tooth decay and developing a treatment plan that fits their specific situation. We encourage you to experience the difference a visit with a quality pediatric dentist can make for you and your child.
